Best Bakeries for Brunch in Peckham
Blackbird (££)
Monday – Friday, 7am – 5pm
Saturday – Sunday, 8am – 5pm
Conveniently located in the arches under Queen’s Road station, this coffee shop and bakery is my go to for incredible sourdough bread, pastries, and coffee. Unfortunately they stopped doing their full brunch menu after covid but it still remains one of my go-to spots for a quick take away bite or my weekly bread shop.
My favourite is the classic white sourdough, but they also have brown sourdough, bloomer, multi-grain and more to choose from. I highly recommend trying their spinach and ricotta pastry if you’re looking for something savoury or their almond croissant if you’re craving something sweet.
If you’re looking to dine in, they do have a small seating area inside and wifi if you need to do a bit of work. In the summer, they open their small terrace where you can dine al fresco.

Goodcup (££)
Monday – Thursday, 8am – 3pm
Friday, 8am – 4pm
Saturday – Sunday, 9:30am – 4:30pm
It does what it says on the sign, a really good cup of coffee. In addition, their expertly crafted coffee pairs perfectly with their delicious bagel sandwiches such as the reuben, salmon and cream cheese, or PLT (parma ham, lettuce and tomato).

Ayres Bakery (£)
Monday – Saturday, 6am – 4pm
This family run local institution has been around since 1955 and is a staple fixture on Nunhead High Street. If you’re looking to try a British classic, the sausage roll remain their bestseller. In addition, they have a wide selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, and savoury treats you can take away to enjoy.

Bairro Alto (£)
Saturday – Sunday, 9am – 4pm
If I find a restaurant in London serving Huevos Rancheros, you better believe I’ll be there. Bairroalto probably has some of the most diverse but also classic menu offerings for brunch in Peckham. You’ll find Portuguese-inspired dishes such as savory bacalhau omelettes to sweet and flaky pastel de nata alongside classics like pancakes, avocado toast, and a full English.
If you thought it couldn’t get any better, you can add the bottomless drink option for 1.5 hours at £35 which includes your main.
Best Restaurants for Brunch in Peckham
Mosey (££)
Brunch Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 3pm
Saturday – Sunday, 8.30am – 3pm
Still fairly new to Peckham having opened in July 2023, this simple but delicious cosy restaurant and bakery is perfect if you’re looking for a laid-back brunch experience any day of the week.
