I’m Megan
Your go-to girl for all things travel over 30
Hi, I’m Megan, a London based travel blogger and content creator. I started this blog to inspire the over-30 crowd to pack their bags, book that flight, and prove that adventure doesn’t have an age limit. Whether it’s a “grown-up gap year,” a long weekend away, or a two-week escape from the 9-to-5, I believe travel can fit into every season of life. You’ll find a mix of budget, mid-range, and luxury travel guides and tips – because travel comes in all forms and the best adventures are the ones that feel just right for you.

Discover inspiring stories, travel guides, and expert travel tips to help you dream big & travel the world with confidence.
Behind the blog
How it all started
At the age of 31 back in 2017, my UK visa expired after living in London for 5 years – and I had no choice to renew for a whole year (I know wtf?!). At the time, it seemed like the worst thing in the world. I had spent 5 years building a life I loved in London and had such an amazing community of friends who I didn’t want to leave. I considered going back to the states or transferring to another office in Europe. I was 31 after all and doesn’t society really hammer it in our heads we should be settling down by that age?! Luckily I have a very amazing smart group of friends who encouraged me to take the year off to travel.
So, I made the decision to quit my job and book a one way ticket to South East Asia to travel solo for the entire year. At the time, it seemed scary and I’m sure you can imagine the stereotypes that come with being a single, 30-something woman who hasn’t chosen to settle down in life. Instead, I chose the adventurous path. I taught myself how to ride a scooter in Bali, got my PADI in Gili Trawangan, cruised Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, learned to surf in Sri Lanka, and the list goes on.
That year off completely changed my outlook on life and ended up being one of the best things to ever happen to me. I discovered the concept of solo and long term travel and realised travel isn’t as expensive as people think. I also realised age is nothing but a number and all the fears I had about being too old to do something like this were completely unfounded!
What Happened Next?
After the year off, I came back to London and slotted right back into my career as an accountant (which I’m still doing today) but I always had this niggling in the back of my mind that perhaps pursuing a career in travel and being a digital nomad wasn’t such a far off concept. In 2023, I finally decided to pursue travel blogging and content creation which is when this blog and my Instagram were born.
The Type of Content I Share
I always saw 20 somethings talking about taking a year off work to travel but never saw anyone in their 30s sharing the same. This is where the concept for my content was born. I focus on travel for the over 30 crowd and teaching people that you can travel the world or take what I like to call a “Grown Up Gap Year” no matter what age you are. On this blog you’ll find travel guides, tips, and tools to help you travel the world on any budget and at any age!
